Security at ValleyFest
With
ValleyFest just around the corner, Security is gearing up for another
great year. Robbie Sims, Commander of the Pope County Sheriff’s Department
Reserves, stated that "Our goal is to ensure the public is safe and
secure while at ValleyFest." According to Sheriff Jay Winters, "Each
year ValleyFest gets bigger and better and has become a family
tradition. For these reasons, we want to keep it safe."
Law Enforcement will be in full force again this year. As always, the
"Zero Tolerance" method will be enforced. "With such large attendance of
children and families, we cannot jeopardize safety", according to Tate.
With two excellent bands this year, the turnout is expected to be
extremely high. "We are hoping everyone will have a good time, but will
take immediate action on those who act inappropriate or disorderly. For
safety reasons, no coolers or pets will be allowed at ValleyFest. These
will be strictly monitored and enforced."
"We want everyone to have fun as well as a safe time", says
Sims.
